As it was announced from the EU Delegation to BiH, the visit is the opportunity to get a first hand insight into the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the state of the country, including the current political and constitutional crisis. It will also provide information for the purpose of formulating the EU external and security policy, including ahead of the upcoming important meetings of the Council on the Western Balkans.
During the visit, the Coweb delegation will meet with representatives of domestic institutions in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, the leaders of political parties and representatives of civil society, and EUFORs and representatives of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
A visit took place a year after the European Council gave the green light to the opening of the accession negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and emphasizes the EU’s continued commitment to support Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an emphasis on ensuring long-term stability and progress. Coweb is the preparatory body of the Council of the European Union in charge of issues related to the EU relations with the Western Balkans.
