One of the galleries in the Louvre Museum in Paris was urgently closed today due to structural weaknesses, the museum announced.
It is about the Kampana Gallery in the southern wing of the Suli quadrangle, which has been under special surveillance for several years, according to the official statement, broadcast by BFM television.
The museum adds that, during the investigation, the gallery on the first floor of the south wing will be closed to the public as a precautionary measure.
The closing of the gallery is the result of a report by a technical consulting firm, which expressed concern over the particular fragility of certain beams supporting the second floor floor of the south wing.
Accordingly, 65 employees of the museum will leave their offices in the next three days, according to the statement.
Let us remind you that in January of this year, French President Emmanuel Macron presented a plan called “New Renaissance of the Louvre”, which provides for the restoration and expansion of the museum.
