Former President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, escaped the relevance of the prison sentence by paid a fine of 36,500 KM instead. The money was paid by Dodik’s law office, and the Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, transmitted Detektor.ba.
MR. GORAN BUBIĆ, who has made a payment, did not respond to the media on the inquiries of the manner of collecting and transfering funds, which is particularly interesting given the fact that Dodiks are blocked due to international sanctions.
The President of the Requestrian Chamber of the Republika Srpska, Darko Kremenović, explained that the lawyer can make a payment with the power of the client, and that funds can be paid through the account or in cash. “Everything is possible … When you go to Market, spend 300 marks and no one asks where you get the money. Verification of money should be done by the competent institutions, the lawyer does not engage in” Kremenović said.
He added that, in accordance with the Law on Prevention of Money, lawyer, he has an obligation to report suspicious funds to the State Investigation and Protection Agency, but only if there are basis for doubt in illegal origin of money. If there are no such indications, there is no legal obligation to apply.
Recall, Dodik and members of his family and associates were blocked for the sanctions introduced to him by the United States. The reason for the sanction includes, among other things, the rich in the public’s account, organizing the unconstitutional day of the Republika Srpska, and the violation of the legal decisions of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the public, he previously stated that he received his salary by mail, due to the blockade of the account.
In August, Dodik was unemployed in August for a year in prison for disrespect for Christian Schmidt’s High Representative. Specifically, from 1. to 9. July 2023. in Banja Luka, Dodik was consciously ignored by the High Representative who prevented the entry into force of the BiH Constitutional Court and the Law on the Law on the Law and other RS.
In addition to the prison sentence, Dodik was also sentenced to the security measure by which he is prohibited by performing the function of the President of the Republika Srpska for six years. Due to this judicial process, the BiH Central Election Commission has made a decision to terminate its mandate, and the premature sentence was replaced by the public and political analysts, because it raises issues on the mechanisms of sanctioning high political officials and transparency Procedures, especially in the context of international sanctions and blocks of funds.
