The director of the Institute for Transfusion Medicine of the Federation of BiH Aida Đozo emphasized that the needs for blood preparations grow, first for the concentrations of erythrocytes, and especially for the concentration of platelets, which are in the Institute for Transfusion Medicine of the Federation of BiH.
“The number of patients who need the blood is constantly increasing, but also the number of blood groups and the most violent, of course, is unpredictable and dynamic, in the first place, patients suffer from malignant blood and hemp. Director Đozo says that during the summer months, the need for blood and blood preparations is further increased due to the increased presence of open-air people, as well as risky adrenaline activities and similar situations, but also the delivery of donors is slightly lower because the period of annual leave.
The Institute for Transfusion Medicine and Transfusion Centers in the Federation of BiH invest great efforts to ensure sufficient amounts of safe and quality blood preparations for the sick and injured.
