Wilfried Kanga (26) is a new Dinamo player, the Croatian champion announced on its official website.
He signed a multi-year contract and came as a player Hertha Berlinwhere he spent the autumn part of the current season on loan at Cardiff City.
Dinamo will pay Hertha a little less than two million euros compensation with bonuses, and Kanga should have a salary of approx 700 thousand euros per year. When all the items (compensation, bonuses and salary) are added up, the total value of the deal could be around four million euros, Index writes.
However, Bjelokošćanin will not be the only one in the contract bonuses for team successes (such as winning the championship or placing in the Champions League) but also individual. Thus, Kanga will receive three thousand euros for each goal, and half as much for an assist.
Kanga passed youth school of PSG, and he entered senior football through Angers, France. He also played for Turkish Kayserispor, Swiss Young Boys and German Hertha, which sent him on loan to Belgian Standard Liege and Welsh Cardiff.
Good season in to the Young Boys (16 goals and 5 assists) earned him a five million euro transfer to Hertha in 2022. In the summer of 2024, he ended up on loan at Cardiff, but did not manage there. He played 16 games and did not score a goal.
He scored the last goal in Standard in April 2024. Today, according to Transfermarkt, he is worth three and a half million euros. In Dinamo, when scouting the player, they were looking at the bigger picture, not just Kanga’s latest engagement in Cardiff.
They believe it is made a mistake in choosing the clubs Hertha and Cardiffwho play football in which his characteristics do not come to the fore. Kanga is the type of player suited to a team in possession and the type of striker who actively participates in the game.
