GNK Dinamo Zagreb drew 1:1 away from home in Sweden against Malmö, equalizing in the sixth minute of stoppage time in the match of the 3rd round of the Europa League.
After they opened the competition in the Europa League with victories against Fenerbahce (3:1) and Maccabi Tel Aviv (3:1), Dynamo drew in the third round, continuing their unbeaten streak.
The first goal of the match came in stoppage time of the first half with a goal Oscar Lewickiand he equalized Cardoso Varela in the sixth minute of stoppage time. Dinamo dominated most of the match, but it is only in the very end managed to break through the domestic block.
After the game, Dinamo’s coach Mario Kovacevic he said that they should not have conceded a goal at all.
We knew we would receive only via interruptionand we could have scored another one. We were better in the second half, we could have scored a goal earlier, so I believe they would have turned the game aroundKovačević began and then added:
They closed it down well through the middle, we had some good tackles and crosses, something passed, something we should have played better. I think we played well in the end and it’s a good point we got, said Kovačević.
Dinamo will host in the next round on November 6 Celta Vigo, then they travel to Lille (November 27), and then in Zagreb they play against Real Betis (December 11) and FCSB (January 22), followed by a visit to Midtjylland (January 29).
As a reminder, the teams from first to eighth place go directly into the round of 16and the clubs from 9th to 24th place enter the play-off knockout phase, that is, the round of 16. The remaining 12 clubs are eliminated from the competition at the end of the league phase.
