The Danish government announced today that it has reached a “political agreement” to ban access to social media for under-15s.
The move, led by the Ministry of Digitalisation, would set an age limit for accessing social networks, but would give some parents, after a special assessment, the right to give consent for their children to access social networks from the age of 13.
Such a measure would be among the most comprehensive steps yet taken to address concerns about social media use among teenagers and younger children.
