Former Brazilian football player Dani Alves (42) has finalized the details of the purchase of the Portuguese third division club Sporting Clube de Sao Joao de Ver, ESPN announced.
It is speculated that the former player of Barcelona, Juventus, PSG and Sevilla could also play for the Portuguese club.
Alves is said to have the backing of a group of Brazilian investors to buy the club, which is currently ranked ninth out of ten clubs in Group A in the third tier of Portuguese football.
Alves has not played since January 2023 when he was arrested in Barcelona after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman.
He was in prison from January 20, 2023 to March 2024, until he was released after paying a million euro bail.
In March of this year, he was acquitted of rape charges.
As reported by ESPN, Alves is training at home and believes he only needs 30 days to get back in shape.
