The Croatian national handball team started the second phase of the World Championship with a 44:24 victory against the Cape Verde Islands team in Zagreb.
They led Croatia to a convincing victory Mario Šoštarić with nine goals, Mateo Marash with six, te Marin Šipić, Filip Glavaš and Marin Jelinic with five goals each. Ivan Pešić had 14 saves.
44 the goals scored are also the Croatian record for the number of goals scored at world championships.

In the first meeting of this car Slovenia won Argentina with 34-23 remaining in the game for the quarterfinals.
Until the end of the second round, the Croatian handball players have two more games left, against Iceland on Friday, and against of Slovenia on Sunday.
If we want the quarter-finals, we have to win both games.
