Courts in BiH solve more than 155,000 items, but the challenges in the system remain

From the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC), although good results were achieved in resolving cases, courts did not sufficiently paid attention to the oldest cases that continue to represent a serious challenge for the judicial system.

Since in 2024. Planned to resolve about 9,000 cases, which are 10 years old, and of which 85 percent, the High Judicial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina emphasizes the need to intensify working in resolving cases located in the oldest categories.

Aware of the fact that the items still do not resolve the subjects with satisfactory speed, calls all the holders of judicial functions to take urgent measures and ensure the acceleration of the process of resolving cases, especially those found in the oldest categories.

– Permanent Commission for Efficiency and Quality of the Courts of BiH regularly monitors the subjects of resolving cases within the plans of resolving cases with the aim of achieving additional improvement of judicial efficiency. Continuous work and joint efforts of all judicial office holders
