The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, told Tuesday that the process of joining Ukraine must advance the European Union, and that Europe must be part of any peace talks together with Ukraine, Russia and the United States.
Costa, who informed the Council members about the conversations in Washington, told reporters that, although there are still a lot of work, the possibility of a bilateral meeting between Ukrainian President Vladimir Putin represents “a quite positive” sign.
