The delivery includes the amount of sufficient for 12 months of treatment, and a particularly significant step forward is that the branches adapted for babies from the first month of life and combined therapy for children aged two to less than six years, in accordance with the recommendations of the European Medical Agency (EMA).
Distribution of drugs will be carried out through the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, in accordance with medical indications, which ensures timely and available therapy for all patients needed, the Office of the FBiH Government for Public Relations.
– This delivery brings hope and relief for ill and their families, because it provides modern therapy that significantly improves the quality of life of people fighting with this difficult disease – the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH Nermin Nikšić.
In the Government, the Government of BiH has made a decision to change the list of drugs of the FBiH Solidarity Fund in December last year, which enabled the procurement of these necessary therapies. Also, the internal redistribution of budget funds are provided for their procurement.
A particularly significant step towards the long-term stability of the health care system is also a record allocation of budget funds for the FBiH solidarity fund, whose mission is to ensure that patients with the most difficult diseases have equal access to the necessary treatment.
Today, the international day of rare diseases under the slogan “more than you can imagine” is celebrated, with the aim of raising news about the challenges faced, their families and medical experts. On that occasion, Prime Minister Niksic emphasized the importance of further steps in the improvement of diagnosis, treatment and care, emphasizing that the adoption of the Law on Rare Diseases is one of the priorities.
– Our next goal is the adoption of the Law on Rare Diseases. This law should be offered by systemic solutions that will facilitate the registration process and enable greater availability of innovative medications and therapies – which is a key precondition for a better and dignified life of patients.
