The English football club Chelsea officially got a new coach.
41-year-old Liam Rosenior has taken over the bench of the London giants, which both parties confirmed on Tuesday morning.
Rosenior arrives at Stamford Bridge after the club split with Enzo Maresco, and Chelsea comes from Strasbourg, France.
Given that both clubs have the same ownership structure, his arrival is not a surprise and is considered a logical move by the management.
The new Blues coach briefly addressed the public upon his arrival in England, not hiding his satisfaction at taking over the club.
– Yes, I am taking over Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world – said Rosenior.
Soon after, Chelsea confirmed the news through their official website, stating that a six-year contract was signed with Rosenior. This clearly emphasizes the intention of the club to build a long-term and stable project.
In the previous year and a half, Rosenior achieved notable results on the bench of Strasbourg, while he gained previous experience in Derby County, where he was acting as a temporary manager.
During his playing career, he played for numerous English clubs, including Fulham, Hull City, Brighton, Reading and Ipswich.
