Italian football legend Fabio Cannavaro arrived in Zagreb and signed a contract with Dinamo. In the first interview for the club website, he revealed his impressions of his arrival in Croatia, reflected on Luka Modrić and the Golden Ball, talked about his coaching methods and revealed how he plans to lead the team in the fight for new trophies.

Immediately upon arrival in Zagreb he gave an interview for the club websiteand first he referred to his acquaintance with Luka Modrić. Cannavaro pointed out that he is in constant contact with the Croatian captain, whom he congratulated on his impressive success in Real Madrid.
Dinamo’s new coach revealed that the club’s leaders approached him two months ago. Since then, he has carefully analyzed the game and the team and said that he is ready for all challenges:We have many goals, but time is short. It is important that the players try and give their maximum on the field. I like working with young people and I’m not afraid of anything.”
When it comes to football style, Cannavaro prefers a balance of attacking and defensive elements: “It is important to have possession of the ball and control the game, but we must not allow the opponent to create too many opportunities for us. Football is dynamic and we have to adapt during the game.” He announced and flexibility in formationpointing out that he played in systems with three and four players in the back line and that everything will depend on what is best for Dinamo.
Cannavaro worked with great coaches during his playing career: Ancelotti, Capello, Lippi and Sarri. He says that he took the best qualities from each of them in order to now incorporate them into his own leadership style:I try to have discipline like Capello, a relationship with the players like Ancelotti, read the game like Lippi and organize the team in Sarri’s way.”
The famous Italian defender also touched on his experience in China, where he won the second league and played in the Asian Champions League: “It was a step forward for me, I became a better coach and person.” He also recalled his playing days, from Napoli with Maradona and Parma against Dinamo, until the unforgettable victory of the World Cup in 2006, when, as the captain of Italyplayed all the matches without receiving a card.
At the end, he emphasized how much the support of the fans means to him: “SI remember full Maksimir when I was a Parma player. We want the fans to be with us and help us make the opponent not feel good here.Cannavaro said that he is ready for a big engagement and that the fans can expect maximum commitment and desire for success.
