These days, a major audit of the operations of companies from the dedicated industry of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina begins.
The shareholders’ assemblies of these companies have made, or are in the process of making, decisions on the appointment of external auditors who will conduct financial in-depth analyzes for the years 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024, it says. BiznisInfo.ba.
The BNT-TMiH assembly from Novi Travnik will make a decision on October 24, while the Binas assembly from Bugojno will do so on October 31.
This item was already on the agenda of the shareholders of Pretis from Vogošće on September 26, Igman from Konjic on October 1, and TRZ Hadžići on October 13.
Government initiative
Let us remind you that earlier this year, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina passed a decision on convening extraordinary assemblies of special purpose industry companies, with the aim of conducting an extraordinary audit of operations over the past four years.
– From the moment when we saved companies from bankruptcy and complete shutdown, we reached the stage of new employment, valuable contracts and multifold increased profits. Most companies operate stably today, but we encounter obstacles that cannot be removed until we find their cause – said the Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Vedran Lakić at the time.
An extraordinary audit, as the Government points out, should provide a complete picture of the situation in companies, including possible irregularities, omissions or possible abuses – both by previous and current administrations.
– No one will be spared or protected – said Lakić, adding that the government’s goal is to continue the development of the sector, “but on solid foundations”.
Export growth, but also problems in Igman
The dedicated industry sector of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to grow, despite the numerous failures of the management of individual companies. According to the latest export data, most firms are increasing production and revenues, and many are working to expand capacity.
Igman Konjic is an exception – he records disastrous results and operates with large losses. One of the key tasks of the announced audit will be to determine responsibility for the collapse of the former leader of the domestic dedicated industry.
