Barcelona finally got some good news tonight.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne made a decision allowing Dani Olmo and Pau Victor to play for the Catalan club “until the ongoing proceedings are concluded”.
“La Liga” and the Spanish Football Federation previously rejected Barcelona’s request to extend Olmo’s registration, but the Catalan giant did not give up and the case ended up in court. “This decision means that Olmo has the right to play already tonight,” when Barcelona plays the semi-final match of the Spanish Super Cup against Athletic Bilbao.
Although the permission arrived, “Barca failed to include Olmo and Victor in time in the protocol for tonight’s match,” which starts at 8 p.m. However, Olmo could play in the potential final scheduled for Sunday, if Barcelona advances.
The outcome of the proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport is not yet known, but the current decision is certainly in favor of Barcelona.
