In Bosnia and Herzegovina, an average increase in consumer prices of 0.2 percent compared to August was recorded in September, while compared to the same month of the previous year, they were 4.2 percent higher, the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced.
Observed by category, in September, compared to the previous month, higher prices were recorded in alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.2 percent), clothing and footwear (0.6 percent), housing and overhead expenses (1.2 percent), health services (0.2 percent), communications (1.3 percent), education (1.3 percent), and in the restaurant and hotel sectors (0.7 percent).
At the same time, a drop in prices was recorded on average for food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.2 percent), transportation (0.4 percent) and other goods and services (0.2 percent).
On an annual basis, the highest price growth in September of this year compared to the same month in 2024 was recorded in food and non-alcoholic beverages (7.8 percent), restaurants and hotels (8 percent), and health services (5.9 percent). Growth was also recorded in alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.9 percent), housing and utilities (2.3 percent), communications (1.7 percent), recreation and culture (4.8 percent), education (3.6 percent), and furniture, household appliances and regular home maintenance (1.3 percent).
On the other hand, the average drop in prices was registered in the categories of clothing and footwear (7.5 percent) and transportation (0.8 percent).
According to the data of the BiH Statistics Agency, the overall indices show that the inflationary pressure in September increased slightly compared to the previous month, but remains lower compared to the double-digit growth recorded in previous years.
