– The West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which has been under Israeli occupation since 1967, represents Palestinian territory – it was stated in the statement of the Ministry.
It was pointed out that such a provocative move, at a time when efforts are underway to achieve peace in Gaza, further threatens the already fragile security and stability of the entire region.
The Turkish Ministry stressed that the continuation of illegal actions and completed acts carried out by Israel in the West Bank must not be allowed. Ankara confirmed its firm commitment to defend the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and to support all initiatives leading to the formation of an independent, sovereign and territorially complete State of Palestine within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
