The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton held a press conference on the occasion of the murder in Mostar.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of the HNK, Mario Marić, presented the chronology of the event.
“The conference is focused on yesterday’s event, in order to present the details. On November 16, around 5:55 p.m., we received a report from the injured party. According to the victim’s report, the ex-boyfriend was running with a gun in his hand. The police acted immediately, but the event had already taken place. The suspect was tied up and brought under control,” said Marić.
Marić emphasized that there were no previous official reports by Aldina Jahić to the MUP.
“There were no official reports of the injured party to the Ministry of Interior of the HNK. She received certain threatening messages, which he sent to the injured party. She did not report it, there are certain indications why she did not report it. We will find out later,” he said.
The minister rejected the appearance of incorrect information in the public, stating:
“In addition to all the circumstances, it is further tarnished by the fact that some information has been released that is not true. The suspect does not own a weapon, nor has he applied for it. The weapon he used to commit the crime has not been registered.”
Regarding earlier reports, Marić said that the police did not have them:
“There is nothing recorded when we talk about reports from the injured party. Ten minutes from the moment of the report, a murder occurred. In the range of 200 to 300 meters, the murder took place.”
Mirza Rožajac, head of the criminal police department, also spoke about the details from the police records:
“It is true that there was a report against the suspect, it happened in January, he was reported by another person for endangering security. He was also charged. The hearing was scheduled for the next period,” he said.
