The players of Hajduk, after a great struggle, won the passage to the quarter-finals of the SuperSport Croatian Cup. In Vinkovci, after the penalty shootout, they won 4-2 against the second league team Cibalia.
Although Hajduk was better during 120 minutes not once did the net shake, so the overall winner was decided by penalty kicks. The people of Split were better during shots from the penalty spot with 4-2. For Hajduk, Šego, Pukštas, Durdov and finally Guillamon scored, while Boban and Vukić were the only accurate ones for the hosts.
Goalkeeper of Hajduk Toni Silić saved Mišić’s shot, while Sopić shot over the goal. Home goalkeeper Marko Galić was the only one to save the ‘panenka’ of Almena.
It started very quickly to fumble around the domestic door so Pukštas had the first big chance in the 13th minute. He shot with his head, but the goalkeeper Galić made an excellent save, which was the first announcement that the Vinkovac goalkeeper will have a great afternoon in this match.
Just a minute later they were back threatened the people of Split. Mlačić’s shot was first slowed down by rival players, and was completely stopped by the home goalkeeper. The dominance of Hajduk continued, as it continued its attacks on the hard turf, but the result did not change.
Cibalia had its first big chance in the 33rd minute. It’s from the top of the penalty area tried Kuzminskibut it was not precise. At the end of the first half, Hajduk once again squeezed Vinkovci fiercely, but it was a period when goalkeeper Galić stood out again.

The second half continued in the same rhythm, in attacks and attempts by Hajduk. In the 50th minute, Karačić was close to scoring from a free kick, but the ball went past the goal post.
After exactly one hour of play Finally, the network of the Split team was shaken. A very nice goal, under the crossbar from a volley, was scored by a player from Cibalia Pervan, but it was goal disallowed for offside which happened at the beginning of the action. In the 70th minute, Hrgović had a chance for Hajduk, and in the 78th, Pervan could shock the people of Split again. He shot over the goal from a promising situation.
At the very end of the main part, the match became diluted, and then at the very end there was a longer interruption due to the inappropriate behavior of the Split fans.
Cibalia fought fiercely and bravely throughout the 90 minutesand Vinkovci continued in the same way in the first overtime. Even more, the host was more equal as the match went on. In the 97th minute, Durdov suddenly found himself with a chance, but he shot obliquely over the goal, while Pukštas had the only chance in the second overtime in the 118th minute when he headed the home goal.
The winner was decided by penalty kicks where Hajduk was better with a final score of 4-2.
They won the quarterfinals earlier Gorica and Slaven Belupo. Velikogorica defeated Rudeš by a convincing 6-0 score, scoring three goals in each half. The scorers were Pavičić in the third, Kavelj in the 34th, Pozo in the 41st, Čuić in the 55th from the penalty spot, Bakić in the 80th and Gashi in the 92nd minute.
Slaven Belupo also celebrated away from home, beating BSK 3-0 in Bijelo Brdo. The visitors took the lead with a goal by Filipović in the seventh minute, while Slaven Belup’s celebration was confirmed by Mitrović in the 55th minute and Caimacov in the 93rd minute.
Kurilovec and Istria in 1961 will play their match on November 5. Karlovac 1919 and Dinamo will play on November 19, while Mladost Ždralovi and Rijeka will fight for the quarterfinals on December 3, and in the derby of this stage of the competition Varaždin and Osijek.
