The fifth African Financial Summit (AFIS 2025) will be held in the Moroccan city of Casablanca on November 3 and 4, the organizers announced.
More than 1,250 leaders from the financial sector and representatives of public institutions will gather at the summit, with the aim of defining the path to financial sovereignty on the African continent, reports Anadolia.
During AFIS 2025, the transformations needed to unlock Africa’s financial potential will be discussed. The summit will bring together leading actors from the public and private sectors to discuss reducing dependence on foreign capital and transitioning to domestic, sustainable financial independence, while supporting inclusive development and pan-African goals.
The president of the African Financial Summit, Amir Ben Yahmed, said that this year’s edition in Casablanca “reflects the urgency of modernizing financial instruments and channeling own capital into strategic projects.”
Yahmed emphasized that financial sovereignty must become a “cornerstone of growth and inclusiveness” on the African continent.
The Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for the African region, Ethiopis Tafara, said the summit will bring together leaders of the African financial industry with the aim of developing innovative methods to invest private capital in employment, resilience and inclusive economic growth.
“We tell our clients and partners that this is the right place to learn about financial products that will turn their business strategies into concrete actions,” said Tafara.
