Sarajevo Cantonal Court sentenced a unique penalty of a long prison of 40 years Adema Šuman for the murder of Pharis Pendek in January last year. The year in prison for Elmedin Gradišić was also sentenced for helping forest. Jasmina Sazdovski, in the explanation of the verdict, stated that the forest from both his motive killed Faris Pendek, and his friends inflicted easier bodily injuries. The family of the killed Faris is satisfied with the verdict.
On the night of the 28th of January last year Adem Šuman, without any reason, he approached the car in which Faris Pendek was shot in him with a gun, after which he continued to drive through the city. Ismet Pendek, a brother of the killed Faris, says he is happy because this is the victory of justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Farisa cannot return and it is the pain he will live with the rest of his life, but justice is partially satisfied.
“My pain can not replace me and my child, he doesn’t have him, every day is getting harder. I didn’t sleep at night. I’m dreaming of a child, he tells me, ‘Mom will be okay.’ I know that Faris looks at us and I think he is satisfied. I hope that the Supreme Court, after the appeal, will have hearing, because he is an insensitive creature without a trunk, “said Faris’s mother Erna Pendek.
“We’re glad, I’m happy. At a moment, I look at the picture of Faris and I don’t understand why I’m just sad. This is a big murder and killing innocent in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Faris’s brother Ismet Pendek.
Jasmine Jasmina Sazdovski in the reasoning of the judgment stated that the convicted Šuman did not show the regret for murder, on the contrary, with the help of Gradišić and Saljević, he escaped from the crime scene and tried to destroy evidence. Also, the Šuman was not even to manage the vehicle because he did not have a traffic license. And I’m Šuman admitted that the day before the murder consumed cocaine.
“The accused Adem Šuman killed Faris Pendek without any motive and in that way the accused Šuman expressed his capacity, recklessness, the defiance of someone else’s life,” said Judge Sazdovski.
In addition to the members of Porocid, the murdered members, dozens of Faris Friends, peers and citizens of Sarajevo who came to give support to Faris family, attended. Among them and Muriz Memic, the father of the killed Jenna Memic, who is still waiting for justice for his son.
“The court showed that sometimes he should be trusted in the judiciary and that this sentence of a long-term prison would be good. Dabogda never came out. Here we have been greeted and that this is a warning to another,” he said.
Faris’s family expressed regret due to the mild penalty for Elmedina Gradišić, who received the year in prison for helping Adem Šuman in the cover of evidence. While Mersim Saljević was acquitted of all charges. The defense of Adem Šumen announced the appeal against the verdict.
