The body of a doctor who disappeared from a hospital in Hungary a week ago was found this morning. dr. Investigation at the hospital after the death of the missing head doctor
The Szent-Györgyi Albert Clinical Center of the University of Szeged launched an internal investigation to determine how the patient, who had just been operated on, could leave the facility unnoticed. dr. Antónia Kett, a respected head doctor of otolaryngology, was operated on on November 3 due to problems with her spine, but only a few hours after the procedure she disappeared from the hospital. Her body was found after a week in the nearby, neglected bushes.
Footage from surveillance cameras showed how Dr. Kett, probably in a confused state due to the pain, pulled on a sweatshirt over her hospital clothes and left the neurosurgery department in her slippers. After staff noticed her missing, a massive search was launched involving police, sniffer dogs and volunteer rescue units.
Her lifeless body was found this morning, barely 500 meters as the crow flies from the clinic. The police ruled out the possibility of a violent death, and the exact cause will be determined in the administrative proceedings.
There are many unanswered questions
László Barát, an experienced rescuer from Szeged, expressed his disbelief at the whole case. “The fact that she left the clinic in the early hours of the morning suggests that she did not plan in advance to go home on her own,” analyzed the expert.
“It is not clear why search dogs were engaged only hours after the disappearance was noticed, nor why they failed to find the missing patient in an area barely 20 minutes away from the building. Investigations must provide an explanation for this, here is a completely obvious question of human responsibility, i.e. negligence,” he emphasized.
dr. Kett has been struggling with a herniated disc for years, and because of the disease, the mood of the otherwise cheerful doctor worsened and she allegedly lost the will to live, writes Index.hr.
