On Sunday, 34-year-old German citizen Sebastian Hertner, a former professional soccer player, died at the Savin Kuk ski resort, near Žabljak in the north of Montenegro. The tragedy occurred after falling from a two-seater cable car from a height of about 70 meters.
During his career, Hertner played in the 2nd Bundesliga for the clubs 1860 München, Erzgebirge Aue and Darmstadt, and spent his last years in the Oberliga as captain of ETSV Hamburg. The club said goodbye to him with an emotional post on social media, expressing condolences to his family and loved ones. He was also a former Germany under-18 and under-19 international, sharing the dressing room with Christoph Kramer and Felix Kroos.

During the accident, Hertner was with his wife on the cable car. His 30-year-old wife was trapped and was rescued with a broken leg. The incident caused shock among local residents and tourists, and the competent services are investigating the circumstances of the fall.
