Prominent Croatian doctor Niko Mihić is returning to Real Madrid, and in an extremely important position.
As reported by the Spanish media, Niko Mihić will once again assume the position of chief medical supervisor at the Santiago Bernabeu and will be in charge of overseeing the entire club medical system, including the first team.
His return comes at a time when Real has serious problems with injuries. Both this and last season, a significant part of the key players was out of action, with severe knee injuries recurring on several occasions, including anterior cruciate ligament ruptures. This is precisely why the club decided to further strengthen the medical staff and improve all segments of care for football players.
They are currently offline Eder Militao and Trent Alexander-Arnold due to problems with muscle injuries, Kylian Mbappe he is struggling with his knee, while Dean Huijsen pauses due to physical overload. Therefore, a demanding job awaits Mihić from the first day of his return to Madrid.
It is about the return of a man who is already well acquainted with the functioning of the club. Mihić was the head of Real’s medical service from 2017 to 2023and even after his departure, he remained connected with the club in the role of advisor, working in parallel in the private and academic sectors. Now assumes supervisory function over all medical operations within the club, while the medical service of the first team will continue to be led by Felipe Segura.
The return of the Croatian doctor is part of the broader strategy of Real, whose the goal is to reduce the number of injuries, diagnose problems more accurately and optimize individual recovery plans for each player. Special attention is paid to the prevention of the most serious injuries that have seriously affected the dressing room of the Royal Club in recent years.
