– Taking into account the importance of local communities for the work of the City Administration of Konjic, after the elections, which were in the protocol period and after the decision of the City Council on confirming the elections, the councils of local communities elected their presidents, today we had the opportunity to agree on the way of working in the future at an extremely important and constructive meeting and together go over certain activities that we had in the protocol period. I am glad that we have a lot of young people who want to work for their local communities, for their city, for their homeland and that they have decided to be part of important processes that will be conducted in their local communities. Also, this was an opportunity to inform the presidents of local communities about the adoption of the Draft Budget for 2026 at the City Council session and the public debates that are being held, so that as many citizens as possible could participate in the creation of the budget with their suggestions. We have open communication through our Service, whose focus is, among other things, the work of local communities, which is available at any moment to citizens through local communities. The goal of such meetings is two-way communication for mutual satisfaction – said Mayor Ćatić, who congratulated all presidents of local communities on their election and wished them successful work.
– I am the youngest president of the local community and I am grateful for the trust shown. I will try, work and be available to all citizens, trying to contribute to the development of the community. I hope that this combination of young presidents and older, experienced colleagues will be successful and that with the help of the City, the mayor and his associates, we will implement projects that will benefit everyone – said Sead Vrače, President of the Bijela Local Community, thanking Mayor Ćatić on behalf of the local community presidents for the reception.
– The fact that almost 90 percent of us are young people, who are our future, to whom we older people will try to support, and I think that this will be a success story and a successful cooperation of us as representatives of the residents of our local communities and the Konjic City Administration in creating the best possible conditions for living and working in the area of the city of Konjic, is encouraging – said Mensur Duraković, the newly elected president of the Lisičići Local Community.
During the constituent session of the College, in addition to the plan of action for the next period, they also discussed the joint sports activity that will follow, which will bring together citizens from all local communities in one place during the winter months. It is about the tournament of local communities in indoor soccer with a prize fund intended for the development of infrastructure in the local community of the winning team of the tournament.
