In the fire that broke out on Tuesday around 8:50 pm on the seventh floor of the JU Dom pensionera in Tuzla, where immobile people were housed, 11 residents of the home were killed. More than 30 people were injured. Of the hospitalized persons, 4 residents of the Home are on mechanical ventilation, and among the hospitalized are 5 firefighters and 3 police officers. All were treated medically at the Tuzla University Clinical Center. The investigation will determine the exact cause of the fire.
˝According to the latest information, in the fire at the Retirement Home in Tuzla, 11 residents of the Home were killed, while 30 people were hospitalized in JZU UKC Tuzla, while the number of injured people who have so far called for the necessary medical help is higher. Of the hospitalized persons, 4 residents of the Home are on mechanical ventilation, and among the hospitalized are 5 firefighters and 3 police officers. According to the instructions of the KTTK cantonal prosecutor, who is leading the investigation, the work of the investigative team, which consists of investigators from the Criminal Police Department of the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and the Fire Protection Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, will include experts – experts from the relevant profession, said the spokeswoman of the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Adnana Sprečić.
At about 8:50 p.m., it was reported to the Operations Center of the Police Administration of the MUP TK via the PS Center on-call service that a fire had broken out in the Tuzla Pension Home. Teams from the Tuzla Professional Fire Department went to the field and extinguished the fire, as well as emergency and police personnel.
Police patrols of PS Center, PS East, PS West, the rapid intervention team of the Special Support Unit of UP MUP TK, firefighters of PVJ Tuzla, SHMP of Dom zdravlja Tuzla were immediately sent to the scene to evacuate users of the Retirement Home.
The firefighters, with the help of their colleagues from Srebrenik and volunteer fire brigades from Tuzla and Gornja Tuzla, managed to localize the fire after several hours of intervention. Police officers, Tuzla Emergency Service teams and medical staff of health centers from Lukavac, Srebrenik and Kalesija also took part in the action.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and more information is expected after the investigation and confirmation by the competent institutions.
