In the coming days, the Supreme Court of the Federation of BiH should rule on the decision of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla on the extension of custody for Ahmed Kastrati (28) from Tuzla, against whom the Cantonal Court in Tuzla confirmed the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of the TK for the criminal offense of murdering Saša Vilušić (37) from Tuzla. The measure of detention can last for a maximum of two years from the date of confirmation of the indictment, with the fact that, in accordance with the law, it is mandatory to check the justification of the measure of detention every two months.
We remind you that the Tuzla Cantonal Court is 11.09. this year confirmed the indictment of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Turkey against Ahmed Kastrati due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of murder and ordered him to be detained, regarding the event of June 21, when at 1:40 a.m. in a restaurant in Tuzla, he inflicted injuries on Saša Vilušić from Tuzla, which led to the death of the victim on July 10, 2025.
˝According to our knowledge, the Cantonal Court in Tuzla issued a decision on the extension of detention for Kastrati after the Supreme Court of FBiH partially accepted the appeal of Kastrati’s defense attorney. Kastrati’s defense attorney filed an appeal against this decision on the extension of custody, which was made by judge Paša Softić. I do not know what the decision of the Supreme Court of FBiH will be. I don’t know if the decision to extend the detention will be confirmed or if he will be released to defend himself. But I am afraid that in the case of the abolition of detention and the release of Kastratija to defend himself from freedom, it may have negative consequences for the state of security of me as a parent, as well as my immediate and extended family. After all, it would cause reactions on a wider scale in the city of Tuzla. I hope it doesn’t come to this. I hope that the Supreme Court of FBiH will decide in accordance with the law and confirm the extension of detention for Kastrati. Otherwise, everything would be a mockery of the judicial system, Tomislav Vilušić, the father of the murdered Saša Vilušić, told TIP.
As he pointed out, he is afraid that in the event of his release from custody to defend himself, Kastratij could flee the country.
˝According to my unverified information, Kastratij could also have German citizenship. So he could leave the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which would make it impossible to continue the criminal proceedings for the murder of my son. He declared in court that he is Albanian, so maybe he has their citizenship,” Vilušić told TIP.
As previously announced by the Turkish Prosecutor’s Office, there is a well-founded suspicion that Kastrati, after a brief verbal and physical confrontation between the victim Vilušić and AO in the restaurant, in which Kastrati did not participate, approached Saša Vilušić from behind and attacked him, because the victim did not expect the attack, knowing that as an expert in the martial art of kickboxing, he is capable of delivering particularly devastating blows with his fist, and is aware that such a blow aimed at the head, as a vital part of the body, can kill another to death, in a way that will lead to loss of consciousness and an uncontrollable fall of the victim, to which he agreed, got up from his desk and approached Vilušić from behind on his left side, when the victim was not in his sight, and suddenly, without any previous reason and without any provocation, he pulled Vilušić by the shoulder and turned him towards him in order to give him a kickboxing practiced blow in the area of the left eye with an extremely strong swing of the closed fist of his left hand. As a result of this impact, Vilušić instantly lost consciousness, fell on his back on the floor of the building, and as a result of the force of the impact received a primary injury in the form of a fracture of the outer and rear wall of the eye, and then, due to an uncontrolled fall and impact with the ground, and multiple brain injuries, which injuries ultimately led to the death of the victim on July 10, 2025 in a direct cause and effect relationship.
