Wall Street: New Records for S & P 500 and Nasdaq

The S & P 500 and NASDAQ Composite reached the new historic intraday maximum, the day after the seven-day series of pluses due to the fall of Oracle that questioned the sustainability of artificial intelligence trade.

The closing of the US government is also in the second week.

The reference index increased by 0.6%, supported by the growth of the information technology and utility sector. Both sectors are on their way to achieving new closing maximums. Nasdaq Composite rose by 1%. Dow Jones Industrial Average floated around a static line.

Shares did not react much to the publication of the minutes from the Federal Reserve Meeting in September, where they were for the first time in 2025. lowered interest rates. The minutes showed that the FED is divided over how much interest rates should be lowered.

The shares of Nvidi rose by almost 2% after the Executive Director Jensen Huang rose in recent months, saying CNBC that “this year, in the last six months, the demand for computing grew significantly.” Huang also confirmed the participation of the company in financing Male Startup for artificial intelligence, XAI, and said that “super excited about the possibility of financing they offer,” SEEbiz reports.

“We know some of the things that artificial intelligence can do. We can all be impressed by some possibilities, but at the end of the day, there must be demand for any software layer that is built on top of that computer,” said Ross Mayfield, the investment strategist Baird, for CNBC.

“Demand that still exists – and Nvidia is obviously in the best position in the world to comment – I think it is convincing that the level of capital investment is not completely circular.”

This move comes only a day after the spirit and chips ended below in accordance with the shares of Oracle after the report that firm recorded less margins in its business business than the analysts predicted. The report also claimed that Oracle loses money on some of their rental jobs of Nvidia’s chips.

It is an additional amplifier of fears that the stock market was caught in a balloon of artificial intelligence reminiscent of late 1990s, when the form around the early online companies eventually led to the dot-com firm balloons. Many market observers encourage investors to rebalance their portfolios, and at the same time recognize that there could be further growth before the growth of artificial intelligence exhausts.

“Even if you look at the late 90s, we had great corrections to Nasdac every year, so I think this enthusiasm will continue to sell the sale of technology shares,” Mayfield said. “There could be several corrections, great corrections of technological shares, you know, moments of Deepseek, before we finally get to some kind of peak on the bull market. I just don’t feel near it.”

Meanwhile, the current government removal was repayed on Wednesday in the eighth day, and the Senate once again rejected opposing laws on temporary funding. Voting is the sixth time that the House of Representatives failed to adopt the law on reopening of the Government after it did not do it on Monday.
