At the Appendix Court in Italy, life sentences were confirmed for the Pakistan couple who was convicted of the murder “from the Honor” of its 18-year-old daughter because the agreed marriage was rejected, written by the independent. The body of Saman Abbas was found in an abandoned village house near the field where her father worked, in northern Italy, in November 2022, 18 months after her disappearance.
The Private Court in Bologna ruled on Friday that the entire family participated in the murder. The Court confirmed the lifelong prison for her father Shabbir Abbas and Mike Name Shaheen. The two relatives, who were previously released on the lower court, were also sentenced to life imprisonment. Samanin Uncle Danish Hasnain was sentenced to 22 years in prison for participating in the murder. He was originally sentenced to 14 years.
The trial, which took place in Reggio Emily in northern Italy, became the most famous case in a series of criminal proceedings in recent years concerning murders or abuse of women from immigrant families who have opposed to imposed marriages.
