Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed his disappointment after the President of the United States Donald Trump signed the executive command, which increases the customs on Canadian goods with 25 to 35 percent.
This move, which is partially justified by the failure of Canada in stopping the smuggling of Fentanila, refers to the products outside the trade agreement between the USA, Mexico and Canada, transferred Reuters.
In his statement, Carney stated that the customs will strongly hit Canadian industries such as wood material, steel, aluminum and car.
On the PLATI, the Canadian Prime Minister promised that the government would take measures to protect jobs, support to Canadian production, investment in the industry competitiveness, as well as diversification of export markets.
Trump administration, in an attempt to justify that decision, called on the cross-border flow of Fentanila, although Canada consists of only one percent of the total import of Fentanila in the United States.
