The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CBBH), with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), published the first interactive Dashboard of gender-disaggregated financial data in Bosnia and Herzegovina – a digital tool that for the first time enables an overview of credit and deposit activities of small and medium-sized enterprises according to the gender structure of ownership in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Dashboard in Bosnia and Herzegovina was developed within the framework of the Global Initiative to Support the Financing of Women Entrepreneurs – WE Finance Code and is currently based on a sample of four commercial banks and one microcredit organization. The tool contains more than 30 key indicators, including innovative indicators of the deposit structure of the SME sector, which makes it unique in the region.
This digital resource enables identification of the financial gap, analysis of trends and a better understanding of the needs of women-owned businesses in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which opens up space for the development of a targeted offer of financial products, strengthening financial inclusion and improving the business environment in the country. The promotion of the Dashboard represents the fourth regional event within the WE Finance Code initiative and an important step towards the establishment of a comprehensive system of gender-disaggregated financial data in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which implies the inclusion of as many banks and microcredit organizations as possible in the future.
The implementation of the WE Finance Code is part of a wider initiative implemented in more than 30 countries around the world, which aims to improve institutional support and develop customized financial products that will enable women entrepreneurs to have easier access to financial resources and services. The EBRD is a partner institution in the implementation of the WE Finance Code in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in 13 other countries in Central Asia, the Western Balkans and the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region (SEMED), where it provides technical and programmatic support for adapting the Initiative to local contexts, while promoting global and regional cooperation, the CBBH announced.
