On the order of the acting prosecutors, the investigators of the MUP of Sarajevo Canton are conducting searches at several locations as part of the “Envelope” case.
“The apartments of suspect Muhamed Ajanović are being searched, as well as his private dental office. Additional evidence is being collected, since the investigation against the suspect has been expanded,” the KS Prosecutor’s Office announced.
Acting prosecutors of the KS Prosecutor’s Office proposed yesterday to the Municipal Court in Sarajevo to extend the custody of the suspect Muhamed Ajanović for another two months due to the risk of escape, the risk that the suspect could influence witnesses and accomplices, hide evidence, obstruct the criminal proceedings and repeat the criminal offense.
The investigation against Ajanović in the “Envelope” case was expanded.
We remind you that Muhamed Ajanović and Dalila Hakalović were arrested as part of the “Envelope” case.
Muhamed Ajanović is accused of having committed the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority, receiving a reward or other form of benefit for trade in influence, while Dalila Hakalović is accused of having committed the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority, which both suspects undertook as co-perpetrators.
Also, the investigation includes the minister of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth, Adna Mesihović, and assistant minister Dženita Viteškić, who are charged with the criminal offense of abuse of position or authority.
The subject of the investigation by the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Sarajevo Canton refers to several actions taken by Muhamed Ajanović together with Dalila Hakalović, Adna Mesihović and Dženita Viteškić, in order to ensure himself an illegal extension of his mandate, then he used his friendly ties with Mesihović, Viteškić and Hakalović, in order to ensure through them the adoption of the necessary opinions and instructions by the Ministry, which enabled him not to announce a competition for the selection of a dean and to remain in office, until the adoption of amendments of the Statute of the University of Sarajevo, which would enable him to assume the new mandated functions of dean.
