On Monday, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) conducted an operational operation codenamed “Stočar” in the area of Mostar and Stolac, aimed at suppressing the unauthorized trade in narcotic drugs. As reported by SIPA, three persons were deprived of their liberty during the operation due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they had committed the criminal offense of “Unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs”, prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The action was carried out by order of the Cantonal Court in Mostar, under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
After criminal processing and questioning as suspects, the arrested persons will be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
During the search of residential and auxiliary buildings, as well as movable property in three locations, SIPA members found and temporarily seized a large amount of materials and objects that will be the subject of further expert examination and evidentiary proceedings.
Among other things, three kilograms of dry herbaceous substance, which by its appearance is associated with the intoxicating drug marijuana, were taken, then 40 grams of a white powdery substance, which by its appearance is associated with cocaine, as well as a precise measuring scale.
During the search, a hunting rifle, 41 pieces of 9×19 mm caliber ammunition, a certain amount of money and other items that the investigators believe can be used as evidence in criminal proceedings were found.
SIPA stated that the activities were carried out in cooperation with police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
The investigation in this case continues, and the competent institutions are taking further measures and actions with the aim of fully elucidating all the circumstances related to this case, SIPA announced.
