Sarajevo passenger planner – Mobile app as an aid to tourists

At the final conference of the project “Traveller Information System for the Adriatic Region – TISAR”, held today in Sarajevo, it was pointed out that a passenger planner of the Sarajevo Canton should be established by the end of the year.

The planner will allow visitors and travellers to get all the information about the fastest routes to travel, opportunities and ways of combining different means of travel.

TISAR Project is co-financed by the European Union under the IPA Adriatic cross-border cooperation, and the main objective of the project is the establishment of information platform to merge data on public transportation and trip planning information and make it available in all of the countries of the Adriatic region.

The lead partner in the project Miguel Carrero from the region of Marche in Italy said that the main achievement of the project is the development of ICT platform that allows easier travel and better mobility for people in the Adriatic region.

A meeting should be held next week in Bologna to discuss the possibilities to offer the ability to use this application for buying tickets in the second phase of the project.

Carrero added that the project involves 13 partners – eight from Italy, two from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and one from Greece, Slovenia and Croatia each.

Director of the Sarajevo Regional Development Agency SERDA Sefkija Okeric said that this project, which is in its final phase, is worth 2.2 million Euros.
