Former Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) commander Ramush Haradinaj was released from custody after he was brought before an investigating judge in Slovenia.
Haradinaj remains in Slovenia until it is determined whether the arrest warrant is still valid.
Haradinaj was brought before the investigating judge in Kranj who has taken further proceeding, said police spokesman Bojan Kos. After the hearing Haradinaj was released.
State prosecutor Marinka Jeraj said he will have to stay in Slovenia until it is clarified whether the Serbian warrant is still in force. She could not specify who long it could take.
Haradinaj was arrested today in Slovenia on a Serbian warrant that alleges that he committed war crimes during the 1998-99 conflict in Kosovo.
Haradinaj revealed his disappointment with the Slovenian authorities, “and compared them with those in Serbia.”
