The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved a net profit of KM 159.8 million for the period January-June 2025. year, the Published Financial Report shows.
The total net profit is primarily realized by interest income based on the interest-bearing components of the Central Bank of foreign currency reserves in the current reporting period.
During the reporting period, most of the foreign currency reserves of the Central Bank was invested in the portfolio of debt instruments at fair value through the rest of the other comprehensive profit and deposits in foreign banks.
The trend of growth and large oscillations of market prices of monetary gold continued leading to increasing its fair value.
The net change in the fair value of debt instruments at fair value through the other comprehensive profit and monetary gold is KM 75.66 million, together with the real income of the period, resulted in the amount of RS 235.48 million, reports indicator.ba.
The main goal of the Central Bank is to achieve and maintain the stability of the domestic currency (convertible brand) by issuing the convertible brand (KM) in accordance with the Rule of Currency Board.
The profit of the Central Bank amounted to KM 217.1 million in the first half of 2024, while the profit was 399.5 million KM in the entire 2024.
