– In Neum, the preseason began a month ago and currently the capacities are excellently filled. For the first May, no hotel has more free capacities, perhaps other rooms, but I believe there are still many free accommodation in private accommodation, so, in general, we can be very satisfied with the beginning of the season. Booking is excellent, the announcements for the season are excellent, time improved and we are very optimistic – the hotelier from Neum Davor Krešić said.
He said to introduce some novelties every year because steps with competition and neighboring destinations must be monitored, which implies constant investment in the infrastructure and hotel content, as well as improving the quality of the workforce.
– Also, in all this, the municipality, although not possible by the measure as we would love, but there are really positive changes and has a lot of investment in the infrastructure itself, “Krešić said.
He emphasized that prices compared to the previous year changed on average for perhaps some three percent too.
– It was a minimum increase even though we had a good reason and for a much bigger price increase, however, we stayed so that the holiday would be acceptable, we can say, in good number of guests, which from overseas – Krešić said.
He emphasized that Neum is known as “last minute” destination, so the reservation of accommodation for the Sam Show of the season is still standing.
– It is a small risk in one hand, the second is a well-good thing, then it is too much more important for us, but we can have a little more cost and post-season, where we essentially invest the most efforts to bring guests so that we can generally be Satisfied with the development of the entire situation – Krešić said.
As for the number of tourists who reside in Neum during the summer season he did not say that there were no official data, but that estimates were some 15,000 guests in the Season’s spit, transmitting the Fena.
– We now have a new tourist boards and a new director who will, I hope, very soon to establish a row and that the exact number of accommodation units will also be considered and the exact number of buildings and will be ordered by any overnight and sojourn tax. Of course, these money that is paid to then be invested in the development of the destination itself and the promotion of the destination because without that, there is no point in or paying a residence tax – Krešić said.
He added that the finding of workers this year was and something lighter than previous years.
– As for the finding of the worker, these are more standard problems, there is not a big pump possible. We all start to manage in the end last year for the upcoming season and I can say that we all were well teamed by hotels, even this year and something easier than previous years. I think we will push the season as regards the workforce, but it is the fact that every year is a new challenge and that it is difficult when it comes to this. I think we will have to take place in the foreseeable future, maybe next year, reaching out for the import of workforce, but this year we haven’t yet – Krešić said.
When it comes to the average price in Neum for a four-member family, Krešić points out that in a hotel with half board it is about 250 euros.
– It is very awkward to speak because the question is about which service is about, which type of room, where the hotel is positioned, is there a private accommodation and so on. We can say that at the Half board, the price for a family for a family price goes around 250 euros, or evening, while in private accommodation apartments from 250 to 300 marks per day, it is a framework assessment – Krešić emphasized.
