The Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton informs citizens that, on the occasion of the upcoming religious and New Year’s holidays, they will intensify activities on the ground with the aim of increasing the level of security of citizens, in all segments.
Given that an increased presence of guests from abroad and more intensive movement of citizens, increased frequency of traffic, and greater attendance at catering facilities are expected in this period, a comprehensive analysis and assessment of the security situation in the area of Tuzla Canton was carried out, and increased measures were planned accordingly.
The activities in question are aimed at increasing the level of security of citizens and their property, in a way to quickly and efficiently act on all reports of citizens, as well as preventive actions of police officers with a special emphasis on:
– increased security measures and the presence of police officers at frequent locations,
-adequate measures against persons who, contrary to the provisions of the Law on Public Order and Peace of Tuzla Canton, possess, assign, sell, buy or offer and use firearms, firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices, which include a fine ranging from 150.00 to 1,500.00 KM as well as confiscation of items,
-increased presence of police officers on the main roads, intersections, central city areas in order to establish smooth flow of traffic, and prevention of traffic accidents;
-increased control of traffic participants, which will primarily be aimed at actions in traffic that are the most common causes of traffic accidents, such as speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, use of mobile phones while driving motor vehicles, i.e. general compliance with traffic regulations.
– increased security measures for facilities of vital importance, as well as religious facilities during religious ceremonies,
-increased visits to populated areas with the aim of preventing property crimes.
˝In this regard, we appeal to citizens to use their personal example to influence the general state of security, and in this way make their contribution so that the upcoming holidays pass in the best order. We especially urge them to refrain from using pyrotechnics, which can be very dangerous and lead to serious consequences, especially for children and young people. We also note that the telephone numbers of the Police Administration of the MUP TK are available to citizens, namely: 122 and 035/365-365 extension 177 – Operations Center, as well as police officers in the field, it was announced.
