Police officers of the Police Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of TK seized more than three kilograms of narcotic drugs and arrested two people in an operation in the area of Tuzla Canton and Brčko District. The action was carried out on March 20 and 21 in cooperation with the Brčko District police, and by order of the Municipal Court in Srebrenik and with the consent of the duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton.
During the search of the passenger vehicle used by IN (1999) from Orašje, as well as the house and accompanying facilities of AT (1991) from Brčko, the police found about three kilograms of a substance associated with cannabis sativa, about 200 grams of a substance similar to cocaine, as well as a certain amount of a substance reminiscent of MDMA.
During the search, the following items were found and temporarily confiscated: several packages containing a plant substance that, by its appearance, is associated with the narcotic drug Cannabis Sativa, with a total weight of about 3 kg., several packages with the content of a white substance that, by its appearance, is associated with the narcotic drug Cocaine, with a total weight of about 200 grams, a substance in crystals that, by its appearance, is associated with the narcotic drug MDMA, digital scales for precise measurement, mobile phones, a pistol-revolver, a rifle of NN brand and NN caliber with the frame and the associated ammunition, as well as other items that are linked to the abuse of narcotic drugs and the illegal possession of weapons, it was reported from the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of TK.
The found materials will be the subject of an expert examination, and will be used as evidence in the later proceedings.
˝At the order of the cantonal prosecutor on duty, persons AT and IN were deprived of their liberty due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they had committed criminal offenses from Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Unauthorized production and placing on the market of narcotic drugs and the criminal offense from Article 371 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina – Illegal possession of weapons or explosive devices, and they were, after criminal processing, submitted to the jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Tuzla Canton, it was announced.
In the coming period, the Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, in accordance with the program goals and strategic determination, will carry out intensive activities to prevent and suppress the illegal production and trafficking of narcotic drugs, as well as other criminal acts, all with the aim of improving the safety of citizens and protecting the community from all forms of crime.
