The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime of North Macedonia launched an investigation against six people suspected of organizing the procurement of marijuana and its multiple transportation to Serbia for sale.
The investigation is based on the documentation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia and on the evidence obtained with the international legal assistance of the Serbian prosecutor’s office.
Organized purchase and transport of marijuana by trucks
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the first suspect is the owner of the Skopje company “Alfafarm” Ivan Dragnić, who together with his partner Predrag Brković and other persons organized the purchase and transport of marijuana by trucks to Serbia. Dragnić was arrested in Serbia, and Brković is in custody in North Macedonia.
According to the warrant, the suspects and other unidentified persons acted as an organized group for the unauthorized sale and distribution of cocaine and marijuana from 2025 to the end of January 2026, with each member having a predetermined role.
The prosecution states that in December 2025, 8.8 tons of dried cannabis flowers were packed, and the drug was transported from Skopje to Serbia in mid-January, where it was unloaded at a facility near Kruševac.
Part of a wider campaign against drugs
A 30-day detention was proposed for the two suspects due to the risk of escape and influence on witnesses.
The action is part of a broader anti-drug campaign launched by the government of Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski after the seizure of five tons of marijuana in Serbia at the end of January. According to the authorities, in the first phase of the investigation, around 40 tons of marijuana were seized from several companies, and extraordinary controls of medical cannabis producers are underway, the media in the region reports.
