The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against 12 individuals and 6 legal entities, who are accused of having, in the period from 2017 to 2024, in order to obtain illegal property benefits, large sums of money that they knew came from the commission of criminal acts of organized crime and the unauthorized trafficking of narcotic drugs – cocaine from the territory of South America to the territory of Europe, placed in legal cash flows, through the regular business activities of several legal entities, as well as through the purchase and construction of real estate, as well as the purchase and so-called “mining” cryptocurrencies.
The accused, as users of the encrypted SKY Ecc application, made a mutual agreement regarding the commission of criminal acts. Money in the total amount of over 6,000,000 KM was transferred on several occasions across the border to the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina hidden in vehicles and in other ways, after which it was put into regular cash flows through the activities carried out by the accused. The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and partner institutions blocked and temporarily confiscated several real estates, vehicles, items of high value as well as crypto-currencies.
The defendants are charged with the criminal offense of Organized Crime from Article 250 in connection with the criminal offense of Money Laundering from Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
