In the introductory address, Izetbegović reminded of the difficult circumstances of the founding of the SDA in 1990. year, in the time of the state, in which the freedom of thought was almost non-existent, and Bosniaks were exposed to cultural and identity suffocation. “Many in this hall were then children and difficulty today to understand how hard the then situation was in the country,” he said.
Izetbegović emphasized that the SDA represented the alternative to a single-party system and the fight for freedom, democracy and the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the turbulent war and fire years, the SDA played a key role in the defense of the state, its renewal and building institutions, despite numerous challenges such as internal divisions, aggression and economic difficulties.
He especially emphasized the contribution of the founders of Alija Izetbegović, whose words are still guided by foreigners and the people, and the successor to Sulejman Tihic, who continued the path of reforms and strengthening the state. “Forces that nurture in Bosnia is tired, and we will not be tired,” said Alija’s message.
Speaking about recent years, Izetbegović admitted that blockages and political crises that slowed the reform path, but stressed that the SDA was gradually returned to the leading position in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He reminded of the election results in 2024. year, where the party recorded an increase of 27% in the Federation of BiH, and announced the continuation of the winning road.
Izetbegović openly criticized the policy “Force that Nastrić” in BiH, indicating the crisis in which the current regimes and their isolation on the political scene, especially the regime of Milorad Dodik. He stressed that the SDA has no alternative and that its policy offers stability, peace, reconciliation, European integration and economic development.
“We do not promise spectacular turns or speed, but we are going step by step, always forward, without returning. We have a Dayton Agreement, the Constitution, the Legisions of the European Court of Human Rights. These are the borders below which we will not go,” SDA leader.
At the end of the address, Izetbegović gave tribute to all members and activists who contributed to the survival and the victim and the progress of the party and the people, and said: “Our people live and our homeland – Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
