The scope of construction works in the eurozone and the EU increased in April by 1.7 and 1.4 percent on a monthly basis. Compared to last year in April, he was higher by 3.0 and 2.5 percent.
Slovenia had the third largest growth at a monthly level with 4.0 percent, and the largest year-on-year fall of 5.9 percent among Member States.
As he published the European Statistical Office Eurostat, in March, according to the revised data, the volume of construction works in the Eurozone decreased by 0.2 percent, and in the EU by 0.3 percent.
In April, compared to March in Eurozone and the EU, the volume of construction works increased by 0.6 and 0.5 percent, respectively, and the volume of specialized construction works by 1.7 and 1.4 percent, respectively 1.4 percent. Among the countries for which Eurostat had data, the largest monthly growth was recorded in Hungary (+5.3 percent), Spain (+4.3 percent) and Slovenia (+4.0 percent). The largest falls were recorded in the Czech Republic (-5.0 percent), Denmark (-0.9 percent) and Poland (-0.8 percent), SEEbiz reports.
Compared to April last year, in Eurozone or the EU, the volume of works on buildings increased by 1.7 or 0.5 percent, in construction works by 3.3 or 2.4 percent, and in specialized construction works by 2.4 or 2.6 percent.
Among the Member States for which data were available, the largest year-on-year growth was recorded in Spain (+14.7 percent), Bulgaria (+7.0 percent) and Belgium (+6.6 percent). The largest falls were recorded in Slovenia (-5.9 percent), Poland (-4.3 percent) and Slovakia (-2.1 percent).
