The Cantonal Court in Tuzla confirmed the indictment of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Tuzla Canton in the criminal case against Besim Kopić, Miralem Halilović, Jasmin Modrić, Dževad Požegić, Šemsudin Kadrić, Zijad Jagodić, Sulejman Šehić and Nedim Avdić, for the extended criminal offense of Human Trafficking, related to the exploitation of two minor girls for the purpose of prostitution in the period from April 2024 to the end of July 2025. year.
After the confirmation of the indictment, the court issued a decision extending the custody of the accused for two months, which in relation to the accused Besim Kopić, Šemsudin Kadrić, Miralem Halilović, Jasmin Modrić and Sulejman Šehić can last for a maximum of two years after the confirmation of the indictment, and before the first-instance verdict is pronounced, and in relation to the accused Zijad Jagodić, Dževad Požegić and Nedim Avdić, for a maximum of one year after the confirmation of the indictment, and before the pronouncement of the first-instance verdict, with the fact that the court is obliged every two months ex officio to check the justification of the detention measure.
˝The measure of detention against the accused was extended for the reasons prescribed by Article 146, paragraph 1, points b), c) and d) of the Law on Criminal Procedure of FBiH, that is, because of special circumstances that justify the fear of repeating the criminal offense, and in relation to some of the accused, because of the danger of influencing witnesses, and the real threat of disturbing public order and peace, the Cantonal Court in Tuzla announced.
