Arab tourists: How much of $100 billion will Bosnia get

Bosnia Herzegovina and its capital Sarajevo, known as the Jerusalem of Europe due to its diverse religious cultures, is uniquely poised to tap into tourists and investors from the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states according to UK PR consultant and Middle East expert Adam Degruchy of the Adam’s of London Consultancy.

The British PR consultant is expanding services to Sarajevo (www.Facebook.com/Adams-Of-London-662430187231436/) to advise Bosnian government departments and GCC private sector entities on PR strategies to support Bosnia as a touristic and investment destination.

The GCC states have a combined total population of 50 million split between local citizens and expatriates resident in the oil rich GCC states of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain.

“Sarajevo is currently not top of mind for GCC tourists but this could change dramatically with the right PR messaging similar to the phenomenal growth of GCC tourism to Turkey witnessed over the last seven years. Bosnia has the right ingredients to capture tourists and investors from the GCC due to its special mix of relevant historical, religious and commercial attractions,” commented Degruchy.

The fact that Sarajevo embodies elements of a combined “mini-Istanbul” and “mini-Vienna” supports the potential this area can offer to the unique requirements of GCC tourists and their pattern of repeat tourism.

“With outbound GCC tourists predicted to spend $100 billion by 2018, we encourage the Bosnian Ministry of Tourism and Foreign Investment Promotion Agency to engage in GCC public relations to maximize the potential of this fast growing sector of the economy,” added Degruchy.
