Uk: Next week, negotiations, discussions and the position of the prime minister

Uk confirmed that negotiations on the reconstruction of the cantonal government will begin next week.

“On Friday, the coalition partners had a meeting where we, as our party, opened the cards and invited our partners to work on the reconstruction of the Sarajevo Canton Government in the coming period. We also took responsibility for the situation that is currently happening in the Ministry of Communal Economy, which is caused by the detention of the minister Bosniaks.

We also announced to the coalition partners that in the future redistribution of responsibilities in Canton Sarajevo, our party will not ask for the department of communal economy, so this is the information that was at that meeting, and we decided to discuss this topic already next week in order to agree on individual steps, and all so that it would pass in a rational time and so that the passing of the Budget would not be jeopardized or the projects for 2025 would be slowed down,” said Uk.

Prime Minister Uk said that the reconstruction does not only entail possible changes in ministerial positions, but also in the position of the prime minister, if that is the agreement of the coalition partners.

“It was at that meeting that we agreed that all positions within the KS Government are at the disposal of politicians, i.e. the Troika parties and the ZNG, which includes the position of Prime Minister of the KS. We did not discuss the details of which ministry will belong to whom, which party will retain a certain ministry, because there was no space, time or capacity to decide. It will all be a matter of negotiations on Monday as well as in the following days. So, if the coalition partners agree, it will not be a problem for another prime minister, or if I stay, it will be done as well certain rokade,” added Uk.

Asked whether he will be a candidate of the Troika for the mayor of Sarajevo, considering the writings of some media, Nihad Uk answered briefly: “I won’t.”
