Unknown persons stole 50,000 KM (around 25,000 Euros) today from the treasurer of the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ivica Merlo, who took the money from the bank and was carrying it to the workplace without security escort.
Merlo went to the bank which is located around 100 meters from the headquarters of the Ministry, Federal Television reported tonight. Person who robbed him had a firearm, and the incident happened around noon.
It is not known why treasurer took this money, or how it is possible that the budget money was carried without security measures.
It is also unclear how the thief had information that the treasurer was carrying the money.
What is even odder is that the robbery has been committed in a place where there are several police posts and surveillance cameras.
Foreign Ministry informed the police and said in a statement to the Federal Television it will fully cooperate in the case.
