This project aims to connect students of different years and faculties, enable better acquaintance, exchange of ideas and experiences, as well as acquisition of new knowledge.
– The mufti of Sarajevo has excellent cooperation with the faculties of the University of Sarajevo for the second year, we have already realized several projects with the Student Parliament. This year we are starting the ‘Student get-togethers’ project, and get-togethers will be held twice a month. Our goal is to launch, in some way, a platform through which students of all faculties will get to know each other, educate themselves, develop critical thinking, basically in order to affirm the values that we cherish in Bosnia and Herzegovina – said dr. Samed Omerdić, head of the Department for Religious Affairs and Education of the Sarajevo Mufti.
Imran Pašalić, president of the Student Parliament of the University of Sarajevo, assessed this project as extremely important for students.
– We tried to exchange views and ideas at tonight’s initial gathering as well, in order to advance this project. Through the project, we will try to gather young people from different backgrounds, so that they can communicate, realize common activities, because that is what we lack. We planned to bring some lecturers, organize a movie night and other similar events, which will be desirable for students – he said.
Anis Sulejmanović, president of the Student Association of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, said that this project is an example of the Islamic community taking care of young people.
– We students sometimes think that we are neglected, that no one sees us, that we are in a vulnerable position, however, this shows us that the Community cares for young people. Our goal is for students from all faculties to participate in the get-togethers, for students to understand that the Community is for all young people, and that everyone belongs to the Community – Sulejmanović pointed out.
Participating in “Student Socials” provides an opportunity to make new friends, develop additional skills and enjoy joint activities.
– It is important that students, as young activists, get involved in decisions that concern them, get together, get to know each other, share ideas – said Lamija Haznadarević, a student at the Faculty of Medicine and president of the Faculty’s Student Association.
Students of various faculties, gathered in the premises of the Mufti, determined to be bearers of positive values in our society, praised this initiative and expressed their determination to strengthen ties and implement joint activities.
The organizers say that all students, regardless of faculty or year of study, are welcome, reports MINA.
