Let us remind you that a tragic event happened yesterday in the street of the Youth Work Brigades, where a Prussian killed a woman. The police arrested him soon after. The child that the suspect took with him after the murder was found unharmed and placed in the care of the competent services.
Since April 8 of this year, Tarik Prusac had a court restraining order against Elma Godinjak. Previously, the Novi Grad Sarajevo Police Department imposed emergency protective measures against Tarik Prusac on April 7, which remained in effect until the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, a day later, on April 8, imposed a restraining order against his ex-wife, Istraga.ba announced.
The police received the first information about Tarik Prusac’s illegal behavior on February 22, when Elma Godinjak reported to the Dobrinja police that she had received threatening and insulting messages from her husband after she told him she wanted a divorce. On the same day, Elma Godinjak was referred to the Novi Grad Sarajevo Police Department, but then she refused to testify against Tarik.
Although she refused to testify against her husband, the Police, in accordance with the Law on protection against domestic violence and violence against women in FBiH, carried out an assessment and risk assessment for children, and on February 22, Tarik Prusac was issued an emergency personal protection measure, which was notified by the judge on duty for misdemeanors of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, Aida Osmanspahić.
Two days later, right before the imposition of emergency protective measures, the Police sent a request for the imposition of protective measures against the violent person Tarik the Prussian, and informed the Center for Social Work about everything.
However, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo then suspended the proceedings for the imposition of protective measures, stressing that “there are no conditions for the imposition of protective measures prescribed by the Law on protection against domestic violence and violence against women in FBiH”, because Elma Godinjak refused to testify. Regardless, on March 3, the KS MUP submitted the complete material to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor’s Office. But the story does not end there.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Elma Godinjak informed the police that four days earlier, on April 3, 2026, her husband Tarik Prusac came to her workplace and said: “let’s talk, don’t do it this way, I’ll end up in prison, if you report me, I’ll lose my job, I won’t be able to give money for child support.”
A day later, on April 4, a Prussian intercepted Elma Godinjak with his car, saying that he “came to pick up the child”. The next day, April 5, the Prussian stalked Elma, but did not approach her. The KS MUP informed the KS Prosecutor’s Office about this report, and the on-duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the Sarajevo Canton, Alma Džinović, determined that the specific case involved the crime of domestic violence.
On April 7, the police issued emergency protective measures, and already on April 8, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo issued a decision imposing protective measures on Tarik Prusac, namely – “prohibition of approaching the victim of violence” and “Prohibition of communication, harassment and stalking” – of Elma Godinjak’s spouse.
The measures were also in force on the day of the murder, and from April 8 to May 1, Elma Godinjak did not inform the police that her husband was approaching her.
